The Steve Addazio Meet and Greet

The Gator and the Hooter

… Important days ahead for Temple football: Thursday, Feb. 17, The Steve Addazio Meet and Greet … March 23 … opening day of football practice … Saturday, April 16, Cherry and White game …. Thursday night, Sept. 3, Temple 55, Villanova 3 …

My friends who have met Steve Addazio says the man is infectious, so I guess I’ll have to use the Dial Anti-bacterial soap I have in my gym bag before meeting coach for the first time on Thursday.
Err, maybe not.
“Mike, I mean his enthusiasm is infectious,” my friend, Ted, said.
I usually don’t make very many Temple basketball games (I did see the win over Georgetown, though), but I will be going this Thursday, 5:30-6:30, for the Steve Addazio Meet and Greet. So, since I’m there, I will go see the Owls play Richmond in an important hoops game that night.
Al Golden was very good with these types of things and I hear that Addazio is even better.
All I really care about, though, is Steve pounding the heck out of Villanova to jump-start our season and he and his Owligator staff finding a way to beat Penn State with Temple talent.
That’s what it will take to shake a Temple fan base that has been encrusted deep into the Earth’s core for the last 30 years. Not even a million meet and greets can match what those six hours of football can do.
The university has released this on the night’s events:
Join fellow Temple fans for a meet and greet with Temple’s new head football coach: Steve Addazio.

  1. I plan to attend the meet and greet. I'm very excited about Coach Addazio!

  2. Ill be there cant wait to meet coach!! The new owligator staff has me excited. Cant wait to see what juice looks like at this level. I already can see Coach Addazio already did what Al couldn't, get us a juco qb with some experience! My prediction a MAC championship. Quick question tho, me and my friends have been debating. What would u rather see a MAC championship W, or a bowl win? I say a bowl win over a bcs team, is more impressive for temple bc It would get more coverage on national t.v then the mac conference game. What do you think?

  3. I will be at the event, but I was lucky enough to already meet Coach twice. Both times he was caught off guard, and both times he was as infectious as when I've seen him at the press conferences. Yes, winning is ultimately how he will be judged, but I have to tell you that if his attitude is a guide, he will be very, very successful.

  4. TFF,Stuck in wonderful Fayetteville, NC this week and will not be able to attend (at least it is 70 degrees down here). do you think anyone in attendance will take the opportunity to ask SA to modify his goals? it is not readily apparent that Bradshaw stressed the importance of winning the city, and winning the state to our new head coach

  5. I'm hearing the Owls are looking at another PAC10 RB. This guy is not the caliber of Brumfield but has decent size and good speed. Heres hoping…

  6. dgav84,that's an easy one.Temple needs to get out of the MAC, the soonner the better, primarily because of these stupid bowl ties. When your "reward" for winning the conference is a game in detroit against a Sun Belt team, something is seriously wrong. My mandate for the 2011:Run the table, beat Maryland, beat Penn State, win the MAC, but get into one of those BCS bowls to avoid the unattractive MAC tie-ins.It's not going to be easy, but it is more possible than ever.

  7. yeah, i know. i don't know how to photoshop it out of the map. i'm not that tech-savvy. That was a map of a proposed CUSA, circa Aug. 2010
